Art lovers can gain their happiness again because on Saturday 8th of March, Kling & Bang gallery will reopen in a new location. Kling & Bang gallery used to be on Laugavegur 23 for apr. 5 years but the magnificent new space is at Hverfisgata 42 (the street behind the old location). Everybody are welcome to come and celebrate with us.
The first artist to exhibit in the new space is Kristjan Bjorn Thordarson with the exhibition called The Mirror has no imagination. Kristjan Bjorn graduated from the Icelandic College of Art and Craft in 1995 and after that he went to the Academy of Art in Vienna were he studied by prof. Frans Graf from 2003 to 2006.
The exhibition in Kling & Bang gallery is a journey through the National park of the human spirit and the walking paths of the mind. A helium filled vision of a mountain will hover over the wooden platforms and boardwalks, that lead to many directions, from a mountain cabin to the outhouse of clearing with a stopover at the thermal beach. If that is not enough or satisfying for the guests, the tourist shop will provide souvenirs from the journey, from this National park of Metaphors created by Kristjan Bjorn, - and then the guests can possibly smell the synthetic of the grass.
The exhibition opens on Saturday 8th of March at 5 pm and will be up until 5th of April. Kling & Bang gallery is open Thursday - Sunday from 2-6 pm. No admission and everybody are welcome. |
