Nacho cheese

Triangle. Basic shape.
Orange, blue. Basic colours.

Food, nutrition, aliment. Actually chips, which isn’t really food - but still, of course it’s real food. Made from all sorts of ingredients, some more manipulated by the human hand than others. All the additives are just as exciting, what are all those additives anyway? Probably something awful. I’m pretty sure we should be nervous about them, about what they’re doing to us. Yet we sometimes eat them. But then there’s also just corn. Tiny yellow round balls. ding, ding, ding.

Produced in overwhelming amounts somewhere and shipped all around the world, in bags half filled with air, half filled with crispy triangles that hardly ever break. It is essential to transport a lot of air in order for nothing to break.

Eventually you are left with a bag. On the inside it is beautifully silvered, but a bit smeared with seasoning. Probably a lot of rubbish in that. I don’t know how to recycle such bags, I’m never sure whether they should go with plastics or aluminiums. It always ends up in the normal garbage because I just don’t know. I don’t want to mess anything up, but I probably mess it all up by that. I could have inverted the bag, made a miniature Warhol silver cloud. Would it then all be ok?

We are concerned about our planet.

Everything deserves beauty.

So terribly complex and ludicrously simple.
