The exhibition Mother and Child is by the well known Danish artist group A Kassen, members of the group are Christian Bretton-Meyer, Morten Steen Hebsgaard, Soren Petersen and Tommy Petersen.
The works of A Kassen range from performative installations to sculptures and photography, often including ready-mades, or more specifically – things that where made for something very different from what A Kassen is doing with them. A Kassen insists on creating situations that are at once genuinely strange and curiously mundane. This is often done by parodying conventions, deconstructing narratives and meaning, while skilfully combining absurdity and hopelessness with humour.
A Kassen’s exhibition seems to be taking place everywhere except in the gallery where it is. Or, it would seem that it is spreading out while leaving many of the conventional exhibiting spaces of the gallery empty. Or perhaps they are exhibiting the venue. It is in Kling & Bang and also making itself part of the building. |
