It is with great pleasure we announce two solo exhibitions opening from 12-6 pm in Kling & Bang, with the works of Aniara Omann (DK) and María Rún Þrándardóttir (ICE). The exhibitions are a part of Reykjavík Arts Festival.
On the 27th of August at 8pm, Aniara Omann will give a guided tour of the exhibition/performance
Working across sculpture, sound, video, text and performance, Aniara Omann‘s art explores the apparent boundaries of and between individual objects. Using shapes and materials found in manual special effects and prop productions, she draws on the aesthetic language of Science Fiction and its ability to reflect contemporary states of humanity through imagined futures or alternative realities.
With a combination of biodegradable and recycled materials, constructed props and sound, Omann presents an installation that draws on both ancient crafts associated with early traces of human culture such as basket weaving, and the collectively projected image of how the future is seen through fiction.
